Sea urchins

Have you ever wondered how it would be like to live even for a short time under the sea? I did. Water and the life underneath has always fascinated me. Aquaman used to be my childhood favourite action hero (until Rambo and Indiana Jones stole my attention). Being a member of FSDC, a diving club for Filipino divers, opened "doors in the open seas" for me to explore. Imagine swimming among the hoardes of fish, big and small,... gliding, bubbling and splashing. Reaching depths that most humans may never reach... sounds fun huh? Well, lots of fun it is.
That's why I love to dive.

Inspecting a sunken ship hull Here's a short exerpt from a composition that I wrote sometime ago: "I could that say I'm a lucky person for God has provided me a place where I could be closer to the sea. I've enrolled for Open Water scuba diving lessons in a PADI certified school. Since then, I've toured the marine life of Mussandam in Oman, where, aside from catching a dozen huge lobsters, I also had the rare experience of being on top of a 3 meter wide sting ray that I've initially mistaken as a huge boulder. I have also dived in the beaches of Jumeirah, Fujeirah and Sharjah. The best dives I've experienced were in Macinley Island in Palawan where the corals are so dazzlingly beautiful and colorful, and the fish are so curiously friendly... as if it's the first time they saw humans among them. The worst dive, sad to say, was in Sombrero Island in Batanggas where 70% of the corals have already been blasted away by stupid dynamite fishers."
